Corinphila Auctions (Zurich), catalogue 258, The Brian Moorhouse Estate part III, lot 3707 sold Monday 25 January 2021: 'Diligencias 1856 (Oct 1): 1 r. carmine-vermilion, an unused example of vibrant color, position 1... hinge thins at top but of fine appearance for this rare stamp.' Hammer 340 CHF against a 180 CHF start; buyer's premium excluded. Converted at 1.235 USD/CHF (2026-08-06) = USD 420. This is the 1 real vermilion key value as specified, though a hinge-thinned rather than sound example; the lot cites catalogue values SG 3b = GBP 500 and Scott = USD 450. Corroborating: on the same house's Auction 196-201 Uruguay page, lots 943 and 944, both 1 real vermilion unused with tiny thins, each hammered 150 CHF.
